On Our Way!

For the last three weeks we've been hard at work gathering supplies, medication, formula, toys, and various other things that may be of help in Haiti. Among the three of us, we'll be bringing about eight large duffle bags filled with these items.

Friends & family have been so incredibly generous with financial as well as item donations. To give a few examples, after Carissa had only mentioned our trip to Haiti in passing to her personal trainer, Eric, without even being asked he made a donation soon after. Heather's mother in-law, a teacher, made it a class project for each student to put together items for the children in Haiti that filled an entire large bag. And my sister, Rosalyn, an artist, made lovely handmade brooches, featured in the Toronto Craft Alert & here. She then sold them with the proceeds that went toward our fundraising. These are just a few examples of how generous people have been. We are so very grateful for each & every one of your efforts & as we mentioned to you before, we are extremely honoured to be representing such supportive family & friends. Thank you all sooo much!!!

We would also like to thank WestJet for their Community Investment program that donated our flights to us for free. The appreciation we have for this is immense as it has allows for all our fundraising to go towards supplies & relief efforts to help those in need in Haiti instead of towards our flights. We leave early tomorrow morning. In the last few hours before departure, I can't believe we're here. We're all very excited, anxious, & also a bit nervous. We've been told that we may have internet access in Haiti, so we'll do our best in keeping you all updated.
